Mhoba White Pot Stilled High Ester is not like the "regular" white rum from Mhoba. This version comes in different batches, but the difference is also that the fermentation takes longer and uses "thunder", like classic powerful Jamaican rums. However, this one is made from pure sugarcane juice and not molasses. It's distilled at a lower strength, which makes for a more powerful and heavy rum. Fortunately, it's bottled at a high alcohol percentage, so you can really get the flavor.

It encompasses all the qualities a bitter should have with its nuanced range of various ingredients, including angelica root, orris root, tomato flakes, linden flower, and lemon verbena. Michael Bitter tastes more elegant than the more classic bitters, yet it still provides warmth.

The bitter has the unique property of working exceptionally well in the classic cocktail Brandbil. However, this version brings a new and fresh touch. Therefore, Bad Company Spirits has chosen to call the cocktail La Babu. They recommend adding a bit of lime to give the cocktail acidity, but it can easily stand on its own.

For maturation, the Rye distillate is entered into the barrel at 110.4 proof, rather than a more industry standard higher proof.
