Licor 43 Baristo consists of the original Licor 43, which is infused with quality coffee from the Canary Islands. The coffee originates from Agaete, a canyon in the Canary Islands with rich and lush volcanic soil. The taste has notes of freshly roasted coffee with vanilla and hints of sweet fruits. Legend has it that when the Romans came to Spain, they banned the local golden elixir - Liqueur Mirabilis. However, the locals continued to make it on the sly, following recipes that were passed down. Licor 43 was created from one of these secret family recipes and is spiced with 43 herbs (hence the name). It has a sweet vanilla and citrus flavor. This makes it incredibly versatile and easy to use in drinks. Try it in coffee, neat over ice, or as a Ginger 43 mixed with ginger ale and lime. The nose is rich and surprisingly smoky, with funky fruits that make your mouth water.
The palate offers fruitiness that embraces warming oak spices, followed by an unexpected emergence of cigar ash.
In the finish, the cigar ash becomes more pronounced while carrying Oloroso sherry spices along with it.

Linkwood 12 Year Flora & Fauna Single Speyside Malt Whisky 43%

Linkwood is located in Elgin, Speyside and primarily makes whisky that is used in blends such as Johnnie Walker and White Horse, but sells to many others. They produce single malt under their own name in addition to this and a rare special release. Beautiful floral nose. Also a nice texture with marzipan and almond notes. Nicely tart and quite fresh.

In 1992, the then United Distillers (now Diageo, the world's largest spirits company) started the Flora & Fauna series, which at the time consisted of 26 different versions of Scotch Single Malt whisky to show the vast differences in Scotland's whisky regions. Bottled at 43% for most of the bottles, but some were also bottled at Cask Strength, i.e. full cask strength, and some versions also came in wooden boxes.

Linkwood 2010 from cask #301235 is an exceptional single cask single malt whisky, distilled in 2010 and finished in a Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead before being bottled in 2023. This Christmas edition from Berry Bros & Rudd is limited to just 267 bottles. The nose opens with notes of jammy apricot, buttery shortbread, and rich caramel, accompanied by a touch of spiced oak. The palate is deep and complex, where berries and sultanas blend with chocolate-covered walnuts and candied orange peels, while earthy spices add further depth. The finish is full and lingering, with syrupy sponge cake filled with fruit and drizzled with honey, rounded off by warm baking spices.
