Mosgaard Cask Experiment Series #4 is the fourth and final release in a series of innovative and experimental whiskies from Mosgaard. This concluding edition is a true tribute to creative craftsmanship and unique flavor experiences.  

The Cask Experiment Series explores new ways of making whisky, and CES#4 is no exception. It is a peated whisky that has first matured in ex-bourbon casks, imparting a soft vanilla and almond sweetness. It then undergoes secondary maturation in a Manzanilla sherry hogshead, adding a salty and fruity complexity.  

Manzanilla sherry is known for its dry and elegant profile, aged on the Atlantic coast in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. This maritime influence gives the sherry a distinctive saltiness that beautifully complements notes of green apples and nuts.  

This whisky offers a deep and nuanced tasting experience with notes of plums, prunes, peaches, pears, lime, and strawberries. The classic sherry character shines through with flavors of nuts, dark chocolate, and bitter marzipan, rounded off with a subtle sensation of fresh wood shavings. The finish is long and complex with a salty undertone, evoking thoughts of seaweed and cured ham.  

Mosgaard Cask Experiment Series #4 has already made an impression in the whisky world. In March 2024, it won gold at the World Whiskies Awards and was named Denmark’s best single cask whisky, a testament to its unique quality and craftsmanship.
