Bunnahabhain Pedro Ximénez 2003 Limited Release Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70 cl 54.3%
Bunnahabhain PX 2003 is a rich, dark and deeply aromatic single malt that showcases the distillery’s sherry‑led character in its most concentrated form. This limited release was distilled in 2003 and matured in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, giving the whisky intense sweetness, deep colour and a pronounced dessert‑like profile. Bottled at cask strength, 54.3%, it preserves every nuance and delivers a powerful, undiluted flavour experience.
On the nose, you’ll find dark raisins, dates, figs, caramel, chocolate and a gentle, warming spice typical of PX maturation. Beneath the sweetness lies a subtle maritime note – a hint of salt and coastal air – reminding you of Bunnahabhain’s location on Islay’s rugged north shore.
The palate is rich, sweet and full‑bodied, layered with dark fruit, PX syrup, mocha, burnt sugar, cinnamon and a light nutty depth. The high strength adds structure and warmth, yet the whisky remains silky and well‑balanced. The finish is long, sweet and spicy, with lingering notes of raisins, dark chocolate and a soft, dry sherry edge.
