Bunnahabhain Ceóbanach Batch 2 is a smoky, robust and traditionally inspired whisky created as a tribute to the old Bunnahabhain style of the late 1800s. The name Ceóbanach means “smoky mist” in Gaelic, and it captures the whisky perfectly: dense, aromatic peat smoke intertwined with the maritime character of Islay’s northern coastline. Batch 2 continues the profile of the first release, but with an even finer balance between smoke, sweetness and spice.

On the nose, you’ll find peaty smoke, warm ash, vanilla, citrus oil, sea salt and a gentle sweet malt note. There is also a subtle layer of pepper and cinnamon that adds depth without overshadowing the smoke.

The palate is full and oily with pronounced peat smoke, sweet malt, caramel, fresh citrus and a salty maritime edge. The balance between warm smoke and the natural sweetness of the spirit is impressive. The finish is long, dry and smoky with notes of ash, pepper, vanilla and a hint of seaweed.

Ceóbanach Batch 2 is a whisky for those who love classic Islay peat but also appreciate finesse and complexity. A powerful yet harmonious release that shows Bunnahabhain from its rarer, more heavily peated side. Best enjoyed slowly, with time in the glass to open up.
