The world's first biodynamically produced whisky is born from fields where the barley is grown by the rhythm of the moon and without artificial fertiliser. Waterford calls the series Arcadian, a tribute to nature's own order.

    Expert Review

Waterford Biodynamic Luna 1.1 is an Irish Single Malt Whisky made from organically and biodynamically grown barley, bottled at 50%.

The bottle belongs to Waterford Distillery's Arcadian series, where the barley is grown without artificial fertiliser or pesticides, following biodynamic farming principles. Luna 1.1 is highlighted by the distillery as the world's first biodynamically produced whisky. The cask programme consists of 35% first fill American oak, 17% new oak, 26% French oak and 22% oak casks that previously held sweet wine such as port and amarone. As with the rest of Waterford's releases, the bottle's origin can be traced via a code on the label.
