Stauning Single Malt Whisky Peated 2nd Edition Contents: - 50 cl Stauning Peated 2nd Edition Description: At Stauning Whisky they malt our grain themselves. They are proud of this and it helps to make their products something very special worldwide. This bottle contains malted barley. The raw spirit is distilled twice in traditional pot stills, resulting in a complex whisky with plenty of nuances to explore. The maturation has taken place in 200 liter 1st fill ex bourbon casks. It has a beautiful light straw yellow color. The casks are aged on the farm in a building with ample airflow, so the character of the region becomes part of the whisky. Stauning Peated is a young whisky as it has been aged for 3 years. Despite its age, the aroma and taste will surprise you. It smells lightly of delicate smoke, grain and chocolate. The whisky is complex with a well-balanced taste of smoked chocolate bar, nougat and light molasses. There is a long aftertaste of smoke, vanilla and butterscotch. It therefore seems considerably older than its age suggests.Stauning Peated is a Stauning Single Malt Whisky. A whisky that appeals to Islay fans. (Islay = area in Scotland). It gets its smoky characteristics from drying and smoking the malted barley with peat smoke from peat dug up at Klosterlund Museum (near Store Bølling Lake).
