Plantation Grande Reserve Barbados is a Barbadian Rum blend bottled at 40%.

The rum combines different rums from Barbados, which first mature in bourbon casks in the Caribbean climate and then spend a year in old French oak casks in southwest France. This double maturation creates a first wave of candied tropical fruit that leads into voluptuous bourbon vanilla notes, whose richness is perfectly balanced by fresh fruit and delicate tannins from the second wave of maturation.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Complex and well-balanced notes of ripe tropical fruit and vanilla, evolving into delicate hints of white peach and coconut, with a mellow brown sugar aroma.

Palate

Exceedingly smooth with plenty of creamy vanilla, hints of toasted marshmallow and vanilla wafers, winding into a long finish tinged with espresso and allspice, while the light sweetness of butterscotch and caramel is followed by sharp orange peel and light baking spices.

Finish

Round and full-bodied with liquorice-tinged molasses in a long, pleasant conclusion.
