Inspiring Portuguese gin from a family-owned distillery that uses local resources.
The Quecedo family has owned the fields and vineyard for generations, but it wasn't until 1991 that Quecedo was ready to launch as an independent brand after years of expansion in the 70s and 80s. Today, the distillery is still family-owned and located in the small town of Sãn Joãn da Pesqueira in northeastern Portugal, in the beautiful Douro Valley.
The inspiration for making gin at Quecedo came from the overwhelming and intoxicating scents that the wild nature of the Douro Valley gives off in the sunlight and heat, and it must be said that the family's choice to be independent has paid off. This can especially be seen in the unique Wild Herb & Orange Dry Gin and not least The Prime Edition Dry Gin
.Here, the local resources from the nearby beautiful Douro Valley are used, where local juniper berries, mint, lemon, orange and rosemary are hand-picked and placed under the Douro sun, where the herbs absorb the heat.
What's unique?
The bottles' label, named Vintage Illustration, was designed by ThinkBoldStudio. But what's most special is that the bottle's label is safe with glow-in-the-dark ink, which shows a brand new illustration in the dark. This new illustration adds a new and mysterious story to this exciting gin series.
