Glen Scotia marks another highlight at this year’s Campbeltown Festival with one of the most exciting limited editions of 2024. The festival release is a 9‑year‑old unpeated Single Malt that stands out thanks to a rare and distinctive finish: six months in fino sherry casks. Fino is known as the driest and crispest style of sherry – light, salty and elegant – making it a perfect match for Glen Scotia’s naturally maritime and mineral‑driven character, which is already the essence of classic Campbeltown whisky. Fino casks are used far less frequently than oloroso, and tasting this release makes you wonder why.
The whisky spends its first 8.5 years in first‑fill bourbon barrels, developing a clean, fruity and vanilla‑forward foundation. It is then transferred to the fino casks, which add freshness, a salty edge and a dry, refined elegance. It is bottled at full cask strength, 56.2%, with natural colour and without chill filtration – exactly as whisky enthusiasts prefer.
As a special touch, the bottle includes a QR code granting access to a unique soundtrack created from sounds recorded at the distillery. A small sensory experience that brings you even closer to the atmosphere of Campbeltown.
