Let the Christmas spirit sink in with a drink or two of Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva. With the following opskrift this Christmas could very well be the best ever.

It's hard to understand why Danes don't drink more rum toddy. Its sweet, soft notes are welcome when the Danish winter weather only offers cold, slush and about 20 minutes of daylight.

About Diplomatico

A fabulous Venezuelan dark golden rum, distilled from molasses in a copper potstill before 12 years of aging. Rich, sweet and fruity, just the way we like it. Nutty and spicy, the aftertaste is long but subtle. Slightly dry nutty finish with good sweetness. Great value for money.

Diplomatico has won over 54 medals at international competitions such as SIP Awards, San Francisco World Spirits, Miami Rum XP, Monde Selection etc.

In 2011, Master Blender Mr. Tito Cordero received great recognition when he was named the world's best master blender, the first Venezuelan ever.


  • 2 dl Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva

  • 4 teaspoons heather honey

  • 5 dl water

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 6-8 slices of fresh ginger

  • 1 star anise

  • Juice from 2 juicy lemons and 2 juicy oranges


PROCEDURE
Blend all ingredients with 8 ice cubes for approx. 1 minute or until only very small ice crystals remain and the drink is homogeneous without lumps. Pour the drink into small wine glasses and grate nutmeg over it.

Blend ginger with water and pour the liquid into a small saucepan. Add the rest of the ingredients, with
the exception of the rum, and heat to just below boiling point. Add the rum and remove the pot from the heat.
Take 4 preheated cups and distribute the liquid in them through a strainer. Garnish with lemon and star anise if desired.
