No Christmas without mulled wine. Here's a recipe for one you can make in a hurry without having to use the questionable supermarket extract. In less than half an hour, you can conjure up a glögg so delicious it feels like being stroked on the inside.

About Diplomatico

A fabulous Venezuelan dark golden rum, distilled from molasses in a copper potstill before 12 years of ageing. Rich, sweet and fruity, just the way we like it. Nutty and spicy, the aftertaste is long but subtle. Slightly dry nutty finish with good sweetness. Great value for money.

PROCEDURE
Coarsely crush the spices. Roast them in a pan until they start to smell delicious.

Add the brown sugar and orange juice and simmer until the brown sugar has dissolved. Pour everything into a saucepan and add the wine, port and raisins. Simmer for about 20 minutes, preferably longer. - preferably longer.

Remove the pan from the heat, add Diplomático and Angosturabefore serving the mulled wine. You can garnish with cinnamon sticks, almonds and/or orange peel.
