    Boulard XO Calvados Pays d'Auge 70cl / 40% Distillery Bottling Apple brandy blended from eaux-de-vie aged 8 to 15 years, with a delicious aromatic fresh apple palate and strong vanilla hints. The brand was founded by Pierre-Auguste Boulard in 1825 and are based in the town of Coquainvilliers. Calvados is the result of distilled cider from various fruits - originally apple cider. The climate in Normandy is conducive to the large apple production found in the region. The tradition of distilling apple cider is first mentioned as far back as Charlemagne's time in the 9th century. Some producers choose to indicate the age on the label, which is done under the following common names: Trois Etoiles: Minimum 2 years of barrel aging.
