Where Grand Solage is Boulard's signature, XO is the house's answer to how far calvados can go given time – up to fourteen years in cask, blended with even older reserves from the cellar.
Expert description
Boulard Calvados XO is a French Calvados Pays d'Auge blended from eaux-de-vie aged up to fourteen years and bottled at 40%.
XO is the oldest standard expression from Boulard, where the youngest component is around eight years, blended with older reserves from the house's cellar. Boulard has distilled calvados in the Pays d'Auge since 1825 and today runs production under fifth-generation family ownership, still drawing on up to 120 different apple varieties.
