Stone monuments still rise from the Irish landscape, silent witnesses to the warriors who once walked and ruled here. Celtic Warrior is a tribute to them — a blend drawn from the west of Ireland, where the past and the cask meet in the glass.
The expert's description of Celtic Warrior Blended Irish Whiskey
Celtic Warrior is a blended Irish whiskey from Ahascragh Distillers, the family business behind labels such as Clan Colla and UAIS. Behind the distillery stand husband-and-wife team Gareth and Michelle McAllister, who have built Ireland's first zero energy emissions distillery into a restored 19th-century mill in Ahascragh, west of Ballinasloe in County Galway. While their own spirit matures, they hand-select casks to compose ranges like this one.
The whiskey is a blend of several Irish whiskeys, expertly composed from separate batches and hand-picked casks. It is matured in former bourbon barrels, which lend it the sweetness and rounded body associated with the classic, soft Irish style. The bourbon cask draws out vanilla, fudge and gentle oak, keeping the profile approachable rather than heavy.
The name reaches back to the Celtic warriors who ruled over Ireland — a theme Ahascragh also explores across their other releases, where Irish history and clan tales recur on the labels.
