The Macallan A Night on Earth – The First Light is the 2025 edition in Macallan’s New Year series, inspired by the sunrise in New Zealand and designed by Bonnie Brown.

This limited edition Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky celebrates the first light of the year and the special moments we share at New Year. It is the fourth release in Macallan’s A Night on Earth series and was created in collaboration with New Zealand-born artist Bonnie Brown, whose visual universe reflects beach bonfires, fireworks, and seaside reflection.

Color: Deep golden sand
Nose: Vanilla ice cream, butter-baked shortbread, citrus zest, and gentle berry notes
Palate: Caramelized marshmallow, sweet oak, stone fruit, and warm baking spices
Finish: Long and comforting with lingering vanilla and delicate oak spice
The whisky is matured in a harmonious combination of European and American sherry-seasoned casks, with a touch of ex-bourbon. It is bottled at 43% ABV and has natural color, preserving its authentic character.

Bonnie Brown’s illustrations are inspired by New Year traditions in New Zealand – one of the first places on earth to welcome the sunrise. The packaging is layered and symbolizes the glow of the beach, the blue of the night, and the golden light of morning. It tells a universal story of hope, renewal, and togetherness.
