Stauning 20th Anniversary Edition Danish Peat Smoked Single Malt Whisky 50.02%
Available Friday the 5th of December at 15:00
Stauning Peat Single Malt 10 Years 50.02% is a Danish single malt with a pronounced smoky profile, matured for at least 10 years. It is crafted from both peated and unpeated malt, creating a balanced combination of sweetness, fruit, and powerful smoke.
Stauning Whisky was founded in 2005 by nine friends in West Jutland and is today recognized as Denmark’s leading distillery. This 10-year-old Peat Single Malt marks an important step in the distillery’s development: a mature, terroir-driven whisky with a clear smoky character, yet still carrying Stauning’s signature fruit and malt style.
Malt: Combination of peated and unpeated barley, floor-malted at the distillery
Distillation: Traditional copper stills, small batches for maximum flavor
Maturation: 10 years in a selection of casks – 8 ex-bourbon, 3 virgin oak, 2 ex-port, and 1 ex-sherry
Strength: 50.02% ABV – bottled without chill filtration and with no added color
Nose: Gentle sweet smoke, ripe fruits such as pear and apple, vanilla, and fresh hay
Palate: Full-bodied and malty with layers of dried fruit, cherry, dark chocolate, and spiced oak. The smoke is pronounced but balanced by sweetness and fruit.
Finish: Long and warm with lingering smoke, notes of campfire, and a touch of salty minerality
This whisky is a true terroir expression from West Jutland, where local barley, water, and peat all play a role. It combines classic smoke with Stauning’s fruity house style, resulting in a powerful yet elegant dram. The high strength adds intensity, while the balance makes it approachable for both peat lovers and curious whisky enthusiasts.
