Puntacana Tesoro XO Whisky Finish rum. Oliver & Oliver, Dominican Republic. 38%

This deep dark rum is a blend of young and older distillates blended with a 25 year old mother rum. It is finished 12-20 years in American oak barrels and then rounded off 6 months in single malt whiskey barrels from Tomatin. The producer has named this rum Tesoro, which directly translated means treasure. This rum has a scent of oak, sugar cane and caramel. The taste opens up with an immediate sweetness that is followed by a distinct taste of malt and oak in perfect balance with the more traditional rum aromas of caramel and tobacco.
