It won gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2010.

The location on the volcanic "Ring of Fire" provides unusually mineral-rich soil and a hot climate that accelerates maturation. The rum is distilled five times from sugarcane molasses and slowly matured for seven years, giving it a depth normally associated with older rum. The distillery also runs on 100% renewable energy.
