From Guyana's famous Demerara river comes this solera blend, where pot still richness and the lightness of column distillation unite in a single bottle.
Expert Description
Rum Nation Solera No 14 Demerara is a Guyana Rum aged via the solera method, bottled at 40%.
The rum is selected and bottled by the Italian bottling house Rum Nation and is a skilled blend of different vintages from both pot still, which gives richness, and column distillation, which contributes a lighter, crisper foundation. The main ageing takes place in ex-bourbon casks for a creamy sweetness, after which the blend is finished for 12 months in fresh sherry butts, both Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso, which reinforces the spiced character. A small proportion of very old Enmore rum is added at the end for further complexity and dark character.
The result is a smooth, aromatic rum, where vanilla and tropical fruit meet caramel and a light peppery finish.
