    Before passing through the solera system, the rum matures in various casks such as fresh oak, ex-bourbon, ex-sherry, ex-madeira, and more. 
    Specifically, Ron Zacapa El Alma 23 years is crafted by Master Blender Lorena Vásquez, using younger versions of Ron Zacapa as young as 6 years old, blended with up to 24-year-old rum, and finished in charred ex-American whiskey casks.
