Primitivo Puglia Diciotto Nero Gradi is a powerful and intense wine with an impressive alcohol content of 18%. This award-winning wine has delighted critics and wine enthusiasts worldwide with its deep and full-bodied flavor, featuring complex notes of dark berries, dark chocolate, and spices.

The color is deep dark red with intense hues, while the aroma presents a complex bouquet of balsamic tones and fruity notes. The taste is rich, round, and perfectly balanced with nuances of ripe dark berries, roasted walnuts, prune marmalade, dark chocolate, tobacco, cinnamon, and a hint of rose petals. The finish is long and lingering with an elegant acidity and mineral undertones.

The uniqueness of this wine begins in the vineyards under the warm Puglian sun. The grapes dry naturally on the vines for 3-4 weeks, concentrating their sugar content and aromas. After a careful harvest and pressing, the wine undergoes a long fermentation of 45-60 days. Typically, fermentation stops at 15-16% alcohol, but with the use of specially selected yeast strains, this wine reaches its exceptional strength of 18%.

Critics have praised this wine highly, awarding it 99 points from “The Wine Guy” and 98 points from Luca Maroni. On Vivino, it scores 4.3 stars, with users describing it as “one of the best wines I’ve had in a long time.”

This robust wine is best enjoyed after decanting and served at a temperature of 18-20 degrees Celsius. Its rich structure and balanced acidity make it an excellent companion to red meat, grilled lamb, or mature cheeses.

Primitivo Puglia Diciotto Nero Gradi is more than just a wine – it’s an experience. With its complex flavor profile and exceptional strength, it sets a new standard for Primitivo wines. Buy it now and discover a wine that exceeds all expectations!

A red wine with 18% alcohol? It sounds like a lot and shouldn't really be possible, as fermentation usually stops at 15-16%, but read on:

The grapes for this wine have been allowed to dry on the vines under the hot sun in Puglia, concentrating the sugar content and flavor aromas. After hand-picking the grapes, they are gently pressed and then left to ferment at low temperatures for between 45 and 60 days. To achieve a higher than "normal" alcohol percentage, some specially selected yeasts are used.

The finished wine is deep and dark in color and has a concentrated bouquet of balsamic and fruity notes of red and dark berries, prunes, roasted walnuts and a little chocolate, cinnamon and tobacco. A lovely full-bodied wine that will go well with hearty meat dishes. Serve it at 18-20 degrees and give it some air before serving.
