Pickering's Gin, 42% ABV is based on the original opskrift from 1947, but adapted for today's palates to make it extra smooth, flavorful and refreshing. Nine botanicals or plant extracts - juniper, coriander, cardamom, angelica, fennel, anise, lemon, lime and cloves - have been carefully measured and added to the spirit based on the family's opskrift. Pickering's Gin has a fresh, dry, round and smooth taste with notes of citrus and anise. Try it over ice with Tonic and a slice of pink grapefruit. Or give it an Eastern twist with a quartered quarter stem of lemongrass.

Pickering's Gin Summerhall Distillery The Distillery When Summerhall Distillery opened its doors in 2014 and distilled the first drops of Pickering's Gin, Summerhall Distillery became the first exclusive gin distillery to be established in Edinburgh for more than 150 years. The small distillery was established in the centre of the city, in the same buildings that once housed an animal hospital. The building was part of the former Royal Veterinary School, better known as The Dick Vet. In these historic premises, Summerhall Distillery distills the award-winning Pickering's Gin in small batches. This is hand craft distilling and the entire process from distilling, bottling, labelling, bottleneck dipping in wax and shipping to domestic and export customers takes place in this small space. The heart of the distillery is "Gert", the purpose-built 500 litre copper pot still distiller with a built-in bain marie heating system. Rather than the direct heat impact seen in many other stills, this bain marie heating system produces a more consistent heat for the still and for the distillation process itself. This provides the highest quality distilled alcohol and extracts the best flavors from the selected botanicals. Partners and gin entrepreneurs Marcus Pickering and Matthew Gammell are behind Pickering's Gin and Summerhall Distillery. The recipes are based on a secret opskrift from July 17, 1947, written on a piece of paper in Bombay and kept in the Pickering family for over 66 years. Together, the two partners have managed to place Pickering's Gin among the top gin distilleries in terms of quality, as evidenced by recent gold medals from the World Spirit Award and San Francisco Spirit Award as well as The Gin Masters Gold.
