This bottle Mortlach was distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2021 by Hunter Laing in the Old Malt Cask series. It is bottled exclusively for the Danish market, and from cask number HL18599, 216 bottles of wonderful whisky have been produced. It has been aged in a cask that previously contained port wine, and therefore appears quite reddish in color. The nose has spicy notes that are supported by fresh red fruit. It has flavors of plums, caramel and licorice. In the finish, there is a long sweet and fruity note that ends with a kick of pepper.
