Danish gin in different styles

Danish gin is available in a wide variety of styles. The gin is built on juniper, coriander seed and Danish carrots and is made by Master Distiller Henrik Elsner.
Just before the gin is poured into the cask, it has been emptied of Oloroso sherry, giving the gin a distinct cask character after 18 months of ageing.
As a limited edition single cask expression, ELG Oak Gin won a silver medal at the IWSC in 2019.

The distillery was founded in 2016 by the couple Uffe and Sara Skaaning Lind, who forage much of their botanicals on the island themselves. The water used in production comes from the Klintholm Estate and is naturally filtered through the chalk layer of Møns Klint.
The raspberry edition builds on the classic Isle of Møn Gin recipe with juniper, angelica root, rosehip, elderflower and sea rocket, then adds organic local raspberries and white clover honey.
The combination of honey and raspberries gives a natural, balanced sweetness without the gin losing its elegance or turning cloying.

The gin is created by steeping freshly harvested Filippa apples, which originate from southern Funen and carry a spiced sweetness with a fresh acidity, in the distilled gin.
Once the apples have steeped, they are distilled separately and added back to the gin, creating a creamy and soft taste of spiced fresh apples.
Botanicals include juniper, aniseed, coriander, cloves, pink pepper, lemongrass, liquorice root, lime, lemon and orange. The distillery is located in Oure on southern Funen, founded by Jes and Gitte Mosgaard in 2015, and the gin has won Silver at both Berlin ISC 2018 and IWSC 2018 and 2019.
