Twenty years in dark oak casks have given this Tawny a depth of roasted nuts and orange peel that only time can create. The bottle itself breaks with tradition too - sleek, modern and ready for the fridge.
Expert's Description
Warre's Otima 20 Years is a Portuguese age-declared Tawny Port from the Douro Valley, aged in oak casks and bottled at 20%.
The Otima range was created as a break from the classic, heavy Port bottle. Instead of the traditional Bordeaux shape, Otima comes in a sleek, modern decanter-style bottle, designed to be kept in the fridge and poured as a chilled aperitif or digestif - an unusual approach for Port when the range was launched.
Warre's was founded in 1670 and is the oldest British Port house in Portugal - likely the oldest British-owned company in continental Europe. Since 1905 the Symington family has been linked to the house, and from 1908 Warre's was fully owned by the Symingtons, who still run it today.

Investment Potential
A 20-year age-declared Tawny from one of Porto's oldest family-owned houses is a sought-after type among collectors interested in well-established age series - although by design the Otima range is meant primarily for drinking rather than further cellaring.
Did You Know?
Otima 20 Years is sold in a sleek 50 cl bottle rather than the classic 75 cl bottle - a deliberate design choice meant to make it easier to keep an opened bottle of Tawny in the fridge between pours.
