Stauning Rye is a true classic in our product range. Made from rye and barley grown in the fields surrounding the distillery, it embodies the essence of local craftsmanship. For its production, we utilize methods from our single malt whisky production. This includes floor malting both barley and rye – a highly unusual technique that adds depth and complexity to the whisky. Another traditional single malt whisky method we employ is double pot still distillation, which further enhances the quality of the final product.

Stauning Rye is aged for 3 years in new, heavily charred American white oak barrels. This edition has been finished with an additional 6 months in Cuban rum casks, imparting an extra layer of spice and complexity. It contains no artificial flavors or coloring and is technically classified as a Straight Rye Whisky.

Stauning Rye - Rum Cask Finish Single Malt Whisky

Aroma: Pencil, mint, raisin, molasses, honey, apricot, vanilla, walnut, walnut, dark chocolate, cinnamon and oak.
Taste: Fennel, beeswax, tobacco, fig, apricot, caramel, oak, orange, apple and liquorice.
Finish: Long sweet aftertaste, appetizing, fruity, oily and spicy.

Everything is made at the distillery using only the best raw materials and traditional production methods:
