Reinheart Rye Whiskey Cask #3 2022 is a Danish Rye Whiskey at 59%, distilled in Germany in 2015 and bottled in December 2022 as a Single Cask from Cask #3, making it 7 years old. The mashbill is 70% rye, 20% corn and 10% malted barley — a classic bourbon-inspired rye grain bill. The distillate was aged in an American virgin oak cask (Toast M / Char 4) at Vintre Møller in Central Zealand, Denmark. Bottled by Hammer & Son. This is a Danish-German co-production showing that Danish whisky need not be distilled in Denmark — but can be aged and bottled here.

Tasting notes

Nose

Fresh rye and vanilla from the American oak. Light spice notes — ginger, black pepper — and a suggestion of honey and caramel.

Palate

Intense and spicy. Rye's characteristic dryness and spice meet the oak's sweetness. Light fruit and caramel in the mid-palate, with a dry rye finish.

Finish

Long and dry with lingering spice and oak. The rye's fingerprint holds.
