OLD CUBAN OPSKRIFT with Bacardi Ocho

Ingredients:

PROCEDURE:

"Lightly squeeze the mint leaves to release the aromatics in the leaves and toss them into the small section of your shaker.

Add rum, lime, syrup and bitters and fill the large section with ice. Assemble your shaker and shake for 8-10 seconds.

Use your strain and tesi and doublestrain in a cold coupe glass. Then top with Martini Prosecco and stir very lightly in the glass, preferably from the bottom up, to integrate both liquids well. Garnish with a mint leaf or sprig before serving. Enjoy!"

At Whisky.dk we believe that the better the products used, the better the drink.

HISTORY:
One of the newest cocktails that is today referred to as a classic cocktail. It was invented in 2004 by Audrey Saunders, owner and founder of the legendary New York cocktail bar Pegu Club, named after the classic cocktail of the same name. Known as the creator of several modern classics, she apprenticed with one of the most influential bartenders of the modern era, Dale Degroff. This isn't the first time she's played with the formula for the Mojito, which she admits was a major influence on the creation of her Old Cuban, which Dale Degroff himself has called a beautiful combination of Mojito and French 75 (gin, lemon, sugar and champagne). She also created the incredibly popular GinGin Mule (gin, lime, sugar, mint, Ginger Beer)

The original opskrift is based on Bacardi Ocho , which we also use here. She chose to use Champagne, where we have chosen to go with the new Martini Prosecco. It's a matter of taste, but be careful not to choose a sparkling wine that is too sweet or bone dry.
