Behind the well-known bat also hides a serious, cask-aged side of Bacardi. Reserva Ocho is the house's proof that Puerto Rico can do more than mojitos.
Expert description
Bacardi 8 Year Rare Gold Reserva Ocho is a Rum from Puerto Rico, matured 8 to 12 years in American oak casks and finished for three months in Oloroso sherry casks, bottled at 40%.
Reserva Ocho is blended from rums matured between 8 and 12 years, already giving it a deeper character than the house's light Carta Blanca style. The final finishing period in Oloroso sherry casks adds a layer of raisin-like sweetness and a velvety texture, bringing Bacardi into the more premium end of the rum segment.
