Which tonic goes best with Hendrick's Gin?

Which tonic goes best with Hendrick\'s Gin?

A Fevertree Tonic Water goes particularly well with a Hendrick's Gin. The tonic water is a blend of botanical herbs, spring water and high-quality quinine from a tree commonly known as the Fever Tree. This is a gentle, light and very smooth tonic. The quinine is not dominant and this tonic is therefore on the mild side in terms of bitterness.

A Fevertree Tonic Water goes particularly well with a Hendrick's Gin. The tonic water is a blend of botanical herbs, spring water and high-quality quinine from a tree commonly known as the Fever Tree. This is a gentle, light and very smooth tonic. The quinine is not dominant, and this tonic is therefore on the mild side in terms of bitterness. A Fevertree tonic water is therefore suitable for Hendrick's Gin, as the tonic water is neutral enough to retain the gin's original signature in a gin and tonic. In general, the tonic water for a Hendrick's gin should be gentle and not too bitter. This allows the flavor of the gin to retain its character in the drink.
Tonic water usually makes up about 2/3 of the gin and tonic drink. Therefore, it is important to choose the tonic that best suits the gin that the drink is based on. A good tonic should highlight and emphasize the many nuances of the gin. At the same time, the tonic water adds a bitterness from quinine and citrus to the gin and tonic. A gin and tonic consists of gin and tonic water poured over ice. Typically, a slice of lime, lemon or cucumber is added.
A gin and tonic is a very simple drink, which is why it is important to choose the best possible ingredients. In recent years, interest in and development of tonic water has increased. This has happened alongside the emergence of new types of gin, such as Hendrick's Gin, which was launched in 2001. This gin really highlighted the need for tonic water that could match the high quality of the new gins. The growing interest in tonic water is mainly focused on developing new recipes that best complement the taste of the gin.
Hendrick's Gin is produced by the Scottish distillery Grant & Sons. Gin can be made from a by-product of whisky production, which is why it has been favorable for Scotch whisky producers to produce gin. Hendrick's Gin is made in the traditional way with juniper berries and is characterized by its distinctive character, which is achieved through the use of coriander, rose petals and cucumber. The gin has an intense aroma and a long, lingering aftertaste. In addition to being great in a gin and tonic, it can also be enjoyed straight.

Choose the right tonic water

When deciding which tonic is best suited to Hendrick's Gin, it's a good idea to consider the gin's distinctive characteristics. The flavor notes from rose petals are unique compared to many other gins. The rose petal and cucumber flavors are prominent in Hendrick's Gin, and the reason for this is that the ingredients are added before the spirit is allowed to contract. When using a Hendrick's Gin with your gin and tonic, it is recommended to complete the drink with a few slices of cucumber. The cucumber slices help to highlight the gin's cucumber flavor even more.
