When Hendrick's launched in 1999, it broke every expectation of what a gin should be. Instead of citrus and spice, distiller Lesley Gracie filled the bottle with cucumber and rose, changing what modern gin could taste like.

Hendrick's Gin is a Scottish Small Batch Premium Gin distilled in Girvan and bottled at 41.4%.

The gin is distilled on two very different stills used simultaneously: a Bennett still from 1860, which produces a full, robust distillate, and a rare 1948 Carter Head still, which uses vapour infusion to create a lighter, more delicate spirit. The two distillates are then blended together.

Both stills were bought at auction in 1966 by Hendrick's founder Charles Gordon from the closed-down Taplow distillery in London.

What truly defines Hendrick's is the infusion of Bulgarian rose petals and Dutch cucumber into the finished spirit, a step that redefined what modern gin could be.
