Garnish your G&T with homemade garnish or fresh fruits

To make a great Gin & Tonic perfect, you can add a little garnish either in the drink or on top of the glass - either for decoration or to enhance the flavor. The most common are lime wedges, blueberries, mint - but why not try a different garnish? A gin is often made from many different botanicals, so read the bottle and see what can enhance the gin flavor.

There are both dried versions (Dehydrated) of garnishes that you can buy - you can also embark on the art of making them yourself.

See the recipe for dried citrus fruits here:

  • Turn on the oven and set the temperature to 60˚C convection

  • Start by cutting your citrus fruits as thin and straight as possible - you can use a mandoline iron for this.

  • Place baking paper on your baking tray and distribute the slices

  • Give them about 12 hours in the oven

  • After about 6 hours - Turn the slices - set the alarm on your phone.

  • Keep an eye on the oven when the 11-12 hours are up - be aware that the smaller slices typically cook faster, so make sure you get them out in time.

  • After the slices have cooled completely - place them in an airtight container.

  • If you think this is too much of a hassle - you can also buy a dehydrator at the hardware store
