Bobby Burns Cocktail with Stauning Heather Whisky



Whether a 

Bobby

Burns cocktail can awaken your inner poet, we can't say. But we can say that this cocktail takes its name from the Scottish poet, Robert Burns, and its composition is almost genius in itself.


A delicious trio of sweet vermouth, whisky and the French herbal liqueur, Dom Benectine

.



At Stauning we like to use ourheather-smoked Heather Whisky in a Bobby Burns, as well as the amazing sweet Vermouth from Belsazar


 


Because we use heather and not peat in this whisky, the smoke on the nose and palate is more floral and restrained. The taste and smell of a Bobby Burns made with Stauning Heather will send your thoughts to the grassy Scottish Highlands and the moors of West Jutland.






Opskrift:


- 6 cl Stauning Heather Single Malt Whisky


- 2 cl sweet Belsazar Vermouth  


- 1,5 cl Dom Benedictine






1. Stir all ingredients over ice in a blender.

. Double strain into a lowball glass without ice

Twist

an orange peel over the glass to get the oil extracts out and add the peel after

About Stauning Whisky:


The story of Stauning Whisky begins back in May 2005. On a weekend trip to Denmark, enjoying a glass of Scottish single malt whisky, the 9 friends wonder why whisky wasn't made in Denmark. All the prerequisites are there. The climate, malted barley and good water. Their wonder is replaced by curiosity. They simply had to try to make a Danish single malt whisky of the best quality.

Nine friends threw themselves into this new hobby. A hobby that quickly took up all their free time.


With a former home butcher in the group, they had a suitable space for the purpose. It took some time to get them refurbished so that they could be approved by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration for the production of whisky. SKAT was contacted and they worked hard to get various applications approved.

There was a

long list of authorities to contact before they could get close to what it was all about - whisky production.


So, about 4 years after their initial wondering, they were finally producing a genuine Danish single malt whisky

.

A whisky of the highest quality, where they were responsible for every part of the production, from receiving the barley from the farmer to bottling. Since then, the new large distillery has been added.
