New Glenmorangie A tale of Cake - Private edition whisky


Some time ago, Dr Bill Lumsden realized that many of the happy memories in his life were associated with cake - from the pineapple upside down cake that his daughter baked for his birthday, to the cozy moments in the kitchen with his grandmother. That's why he created this whisky - to capture the magic of cake in a Glenmorangie whisky. And that's why this Glenmorangie Single Malt is finished in the finest Tokaji dessert wine casks. The liquid is a rich copper, but the taste is pure technicolor - rich, sweet and complex with layers of honey, white chocolate, fruit and a hint of mint. As you might have guessed, it tastes great with a real piece of cake.

Nose: Complex, rich and versatile with an explosion of passion fruit and mango. More savory notes like freshly baked bread, oak and a distinctive minerality emerge, followed by more classic Glenmorangie notes like honey, vanilla and almond.

Taste: The mouthfeel is surprisingly rich and tart at the same time, leading to an explosion of sweet flavors - honey, white chocolate, apricot, almond, vanilla and pear. All of this is balanced by a hint of tart orange and menthol, both classic Glenmorangie notes.

Finish: The lingering aftertaste is again reminiscent of a delicious combination of honey, chocolate, almonds and pecans.



The recipe:

A Tale of Cake naturally tastes great with a real piece of cake, which is why Dr. Bill collaborated with Dominique Ansel for this launch. Dominique Ansel is hailed as the Willy Wonka of New York. He has a passion for exploring new flavors and, for example, created the
world-famous "Cronut" - a donut-croissant hybrid. Together, Dr. Bill and Dominique Ansel have created the perfect pairing between cake and a Tale of Cake cocktail .... or as they call it - a CakeTail.

INGREDIENTS:

5 cl Glenmorangie Tale of Cake
0.75 cl coconut water
0.75 cl pineapple syrup
A few drops of Peychaud's bitters
A pinch of black pepper

METHOD: Mix all ingredients in a mixing glass and strain into a lowball glass with one large ice cube. Garnish with an orange twist.
