Drouin and the Arran whisky distillery have swapped casks for twenty years. This time, six of Arran's own casks – originally on loan from Drouin's cellar – came home again, filled with a 13-year-old calvados.

Experimental de Christian Drouin 13 Year Old Calvados Arran Angels is a French Calvados finished in whisky casks from the Arran distillery in Scotland and bottled at 46.9%.
This release is Drouin's Expérimental Small Batch No. 9. A 13-year-old Pays d'Auge calvados was placed in six casks that had previously aged whisky at the Lochranza distillery on Arran, Scotland, for a full seventeen years. The casks originally came from Drouin's own cellar, and the two houses have shared a friendship and a tradition of cask exchange for twenty years. After six months in the Arran casks, the calvados was bottled in a limited release of 1,992 bottles.

Nose
Delicate, with apple, malt, apricot and a light pear sweetness.
Palate
Balanced between roundness and acidity, with a clear malt character from the whisky cask.
Finish
Medium length, with hazelnut and grain fading softly.
