Teeling Whiskey the new star in the Irish sky - Blog post by Steven Kramme

In my opinion, Irish whiskey has for many years been rather anonymous and overlooked. This is probably probably why you don't see much Irish whiskey on the shelves of Irish whiskey on tap. For a long time, Irish whiskey has therefore been overshadowed by Scotch Scotch whisky, which has dominated. But fortunately, Irish distilleries are much more than that. Tullamore and Jameson. Several exciting new distilleries are emerging, and there are and there are many exciting distilleries to explore.

Teeling is one of the distilleries worth checking out. They are based in Dublin in some fairly new buildings. However, their history goes all the way back to 1782, when they made the first whiskey. In 2015, they opened the new distillery and have quickly become a success. success.

I have tasted their small batch and single malt. Both whiskies are 46% alc.

Teeling Single Malt Whiskey 46%
On the nose, it is slightly sweet with quite a few fruit notes. Apples, honeydew melon, pears and grapes. If you make a fruit platter for brunch, you'll have a large part of the the aroma of this whiskey. It has been aged in 5 casks, sherry, port, madeira, white burgundy and cabernet sauvignon. It's really hard to smell it all, but there's no doubt doubt about the fruit.

The taste is delightfully uncomplicated. A little sherry and a little bitterness at the very end. For me the smell is absolutely fantastic, where the taste disappoints a bit. An exciting whiskey that most people will like. It is nice that you have chosen to keep the alcohol at 46%. a little extra firmly in the mouth.

Teeling Small Batch Whiskey Rum Cask Finish 46%.
Nice golden color. A bit more anonymous compared to their single malt. There is again lots of sweetness. It has been aged for 6 months in a rum cask. It's quite obvious. Dried fruit, raisins, dates, vanilla and some nuts. In the taste, there is a lot of sweetness. Probably just on the good side for my taste. It's simply too overpowering. I have a hard time not associating it with rum. People who like rum will love this whiskey.

I was on their website and they use it as a mixer for drinks. It makes a lot more It makes a lot more sense. So if you want to be ready for summer with the latest cocktails cocktails, check out their website.

For me, their single malt is an exciting encounter with Irish whiskey. It fulfills everything what I expect. Lots of flavor and aroma. A whiskey I can sit back and enjoy.

Small batch disappoints as a whiskey, but is a sure hit on the summer terrace as a mixer in cocktails. Also try Teeling in an Old fashion
