Four years younger than the brand's oldest release, the 2002 vintage offers the same Panamanian tropical ageing, just with a touch more freshness retained in the profile.
Expert Description
Ron Dos Mares 2002 Vintage Limited Edition 22 Year is a Panama Rum, aged for 22 years and bottled at 46.5%.
The rum is produced by Varela Hermanos at Hacienda San Isidro in Panama, the same family company behind Ron Abuelo. Like the rest of the Vintage series, the rum is column distilled from molasses and aged locally in American oak casks in Panama's warm, humid climate between the Pacific and the Atlantic. The 2002 vintage is the second-oldest in the range, given 22 years to develop a deep yet still well-balanced character.
The result is a full-bodied, dark rum, where dried fruit and spice meet a long, warm finish with a hint of cocoa.
Tasting Notes
