Kamiki New Blended Japanese Whisky

The production of Kamiki Whisky is protected by Omiwa temple priests from Nara, the first capital of Japan. Omiwa is one of the oldest existing shrines in Japan, over 1000 years old, and has been protecting local alcohol producers ever since.

Nara is densely covered in Yoshino Sugi (Japanese cedar) forests. Yoshino Sugi is used to build temples, it is burned in temples to calm the mind and to age local alcohol. Kamiki is first aged for 3 years in oak and then, using a unique technique, in uncharred, local Yoshino Sugi to bring out the perfect rounded flavor, a sandalwood scent and a hint of green tea on the finish. It's this second aging that makes Kamiki: "THE FIRST WHISKY IN THE WORLD WITH JAPANESE CEDAR CASK FINISH"!

The name, Kamiki, is inspired by the mountain, Miwa, which means Mountain of God and is protected by the Omiwa temple priests. KAMI means God and IKI means breath, and the name has been inspired by the beautiful breezes from Miwa.

Kamiki Blended Malt Whisky offers a well-balanced aroma of heather honey and sandalwood, while sweet caramel, Japanese plums with oak balanced by peat on the palate. It rounds off nicely with hints of toffee and a long finish with a hint of green tea.

Kamiki SAKURA is an exclusive version of Kamiki Blended Malt Whisky, where the whisky is aged in Sakura (Japanese cherry wood) casks in the final stage after being aged in Yoshino Sugi casks. This 2-part Cask finish brings out the essence of Yoshino Sugi (Japanese cedar) and Sakura (Japanese cherry) in the whisky with a distinctive warming woodiness, mild spices before notes of sweet cherry.

Kamiki Sakura smells of cherry candy with ripe bananas, chestnuts and cinnamon. The taste buds are treated to woody notes, sandalwood and mild spices before sweet cherry. It finishes beautifully with spicy cherry notes that lead into a floral, spring-like finish.

Kamiki INTENSE is an exclusive version of Kamiki Blended Malt Whisky, where the nose in the glass is met by fried banana fritters with caramel and sesame. These aromas are also present on the palate, where you also get lightly toasted white bread, hints of spiced pear in red wine and crushed pepper. It finishes beautifully with notes of banana fritters, caramel and white pepper.
