New Whisky Blogger - this time two people Mads Thorup and Kristian Henriksen

About the two whisky enthusiastsWe

are

Mads and Kristian and are 31 and 34 years old respectively with a total of 18 - 20 years of experience in whisky

. We

have known each other for over ten years and love to get together to enjoy a good dram of whisky together and discuss its notes and characteristics.

We both live in Aalborg and meet with a small group of five people every 2-3 months, where we taste and discuss different whiskies in a predetermined topic.

Some of the topics we have been through are e.g. cask strength, blended and Danish whiskies. This gives us min. This gives us at least five different whiskies from each topic, where we can discuss what we think and feel about the different whiskies and listen to each other's impressions of the whiskies. We hope to pass on some of that knowledge to other whisky enthusiasts through this blog.

Briefly about the two of us:
  • Kristian is 34 years young and educated as a historian specializing in communication. Kristian began his interest in whisky ten years ago, and since then he has had extensive experience with primarily Scotch whisky but is not afraid to embark on new adventures in the world of whisky. Kristian is part of a small private lodge (where I am also a member), where we are a handful of whisky lovers who meet every 2-3 months to taste or discuss whisky. Not always because we agree on what is best, but we always agree that whisky has different personality traits just like us humans, and there should be room for everyone.
  • I, Mads, am 31 years old and have a degree in civil engineering and eight to ten years of experience with whisky. I love a good dram and trying new things. In addition, I have a nice private whisky collection. I have a lot within the Danish market, where I have both tasted and invested a lot. I also have a great interest in the Scottish market and follow what is happening over there, where I have invested in some new young Scottish distilleries. I like to keep my finger on the pulse and also keep an eye out to see if I can get something unique for my private collection.
