Carmina is the red sister in Drouin's gin family, where ripe berries and apples from 30 varieties merge into a crystalline, lightly pink-hued distillate.
Expert's description
Le Gin de Christian Drouin Carmina is a French small batch gin from the Calvados house Christian Drouin, bottled at 42%.
The gin gathers floral and fruity notes using raspberry, blackcurrant, elderflower, vanilla, lemon and orange, alongside juniper and apples from Normandy.
The base is distilled from 30 different apple varieties, the same foundation the house uses for its Calvados, with each botanical distilled separately to optimise aroma extraction.
The red berries are added specifically to highlight a fruity character that sets Carmina apart from the house's more spiced gin.
