Stauning Single Malt WhiskyStauning Heather is a Stauning Single Malt Whisky. A whisky that doesn't just appeal to Islay fans. (Islay = area in Scotland). It gets its smoke from drying and smoking the malted barley with burnt heather harvested from the moors of western Jutland. But as the smoke is very gentle, delicate and sweet, it is not too much for those who do not normally like smoked whisky. It is a Single Malt Whisky and as always it is produced on our floor malted barley. The maturation has taken place in 200 liter 1st fill ex bourbon casks. It has a beautiful dark straw yellow color. It smells lightly of smoke, grain and chocolate. The whisky is complex with a well-balanced taste of smoked chocolate bar, nougat and vanilla. There is an incredibly long aftertaste.
