Stauning HEATHER September 2017 is a Danish Single Malt Whisky bottled at 48.7% and made with heather added during the drying of the malt. Distilled 2013-2014 and released in September 2017. Heather is a traditional ingredient in Nordic brewing and distilling, and Stauning revives the tradition in the HEATHER series. The result is a whisky with a unique floral and honeyed profile – clearly different from the rest of Stauning's range.

HEATHER is one of Stauning's most original expressions. It is not just a variation on a theme – it is a whisky that could not come from any other region. The Jutland heather moor is the invisible ingredient.

Tasting notes

Nose

Heather and wildflowers, light fruits and a discreet honey sweetness. Very aromatic and fresh.

Palate

Floral and sweet with malt, honey and heather tones. Light spice and a mild fruit core. Elegant and different.

Finish

Moderate and floral with blossom and a little sweetness. Fades gently.
