Autumn air settles into the fermentation. That is at least Fary Lochan's philosophy – and the autumn distillation is one of the most aromatically rich in the seasonal series.

    Expert description

Fary Lochan Autumn Batch 02 is a Danish Single Malt Whisky from the autumn distillation, bottled at 48%, 50 cl. Fary Lochan in Give, Jutland, distils in four seasons as a core principle, as temperature and environment influence fermentation character. Autumn batches are known to be slightly heavier and more aromatic than summer ones. Batch 02 is the second bottling in this seasonal line. Non-chill filtered with natural colour.

Fary Lochan does not always publish exact distillation dates for seasonal batches – but autumn distillations typically happen in September-October, when fermentation temperatures are cooler than in summer.

Frequently asked questions about Fary Lochan Autumn Batch 02

What are the seasonal distillations at Fary Lochan?

Fary Lochan distils four times a year, once per season. The theory is that air temperature and environment during fermentation influence the character of the distillate. Autumn batches are generally slightly heavier than spring ones.

What is the difference between Batch 01 and Batch 02?

Batch 02 is the second bottling in the autumn series. It may vary from Batch 01 in vintage, cask combination, and flavour balance – but shares the same seasonal philosophy and production method.

What food pairs well with Autumn Batch 02?

The smooth, fruity profile makes it well-suited to a quiet evening meal with light chicken, mild cheeses, or simply as a solo dram by the fire.

Should I drink it neat or with water?

48% is a well-chosen bottling point. Try it neat first – the profile is accessible and well-balanced as is. Water is optional.

    Is this a limited edition?

Yes, all of Fary Lochan's seasonal batches are limited. The autumn distillation is produced once a year and bottled in a limited number of bottles.

    What is the distillation method?

Fary Lochan uses double distillation in pot stills – the same method as Scottish single malt distilleries.
