British precision meets Islay peat. Bowmore and Aston Martin — two brands rooted in craft, pace and tradition — found each other in a limited edition that tastes better than it sounds.

    Expert's description

Bowmore Aston Martin 10 Year Masters Selection is an Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in Spanish sherry casks and hogsheads and bottled at 40%. The product of a collaboration between Islay's oldest distillery and the iconic British car manufacturer Aston Martin. The Masters Selection series is presented in 1-litre bottles, matured for 10 years in a combination of Spanish sherry casks and classic hogsheads — a mix that delivers unusual depth for the age. The sherry-led character and the Islay peat that is always present in Bowmore create an interplay between dark fruit and coastal air that works well. At 40% and 1 litre, this is not a cask strength collector's bottle — it's a whisky made to be drunk.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Dried fruit and chocolate, peat and a light medicinal note. Behind it, dusty oak, bonfire embers and toffee.

    Taste

Fruity and silky textured with light peat smoke. Citrus, dark chocolate and sherry from old casks, alongside a hint of hazelnut and caramel.

    Finish

Medium length, warming and gently smoky. A touch of dark coffee and dried orange peel.

Frequently asked questions about Bowmore Aston Martin 10 Year Masters Selection

What is the story behind the Bowmore and Aston Martin collaboration?

Bowmore and Aston Martin joined forces to celebrate two British icons in their respective crafts. The Masters Selection is an exclusive series, sold globally and designed to appeal to the clientele of both brands.

Is Bowmore Aston Martin 10 Year worth buying?

It depends on what you're looking for. As whisky, it's solid 10-year Bowmore with an interesting sherry and hogshead combination. The 1-litre format provides good volume, and the Aston Martin connection gives it appeal beyond the whisky itself.

What does the Masters Selection 10 Year taste like?

Classic young Bowmore with moderate peat smoke, citrus and apple, a hint of sea salt and vanilla. The Spanish sherry casks bring dried fruit and gentle warmth. Accessible and pleasant.

Why is it bottled in 1 litre?

The 1-litre format is common in travel retail and at the distillery, and is typical of the Masters Selection series. It offers more volume and is often considered better value than a standard 70cl expression.

How does this compare to standard Bowmore 12 Year?

The Aston Martin release is two years younger, but the Spanish sherry casks and hogsheads give it a slightly different profile — a touch richer from the sherry influence, though less complex than the longer-aged expression.

    Is the packaging worth keeping?

The bottle design clearly reflects the collaboration. For those who value both brands, keeping the bottle is a natural choice — the presentation is a significant part of the appeal.
