Bowmore 15 Year Old 70cl / 43%Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling A sherry matured Bowmore whisky kept in wood for at least 15 years to give a rich and smoky dram. Tasting notes from www.whiskyflasken.dk:Nose: Smoke and sherry. It almost goes without saying. The combination here makes the whole thing smell a bit like barbecue. Charcoal, salt, burnt sugar, cinnamon and raisins. Some fruitiness from the Oloroso barrels, but also some tropical fruits. Some vanilla and caramel sneak up over time. Definitely a nice nose.The taste: There are some dried berries and fresh grapes right at the start. Then a little sherry sweetness with caramel before the smoke takes over and cinnamon and licorice powder appear. It starts to tingle in the cheeks and the mouth dries out. Possibly a little coffee and dark chocolate.Aftertaste: Long warm aftertaste with charcoal, chocolate, licorice and nuts.Rating: 86/100
