Three ageing stages across two continents, where the Spanish sherry family Williams & Humbert adds the final, defining touch to a Caribbean rum blend.
Expert Description
Dos Maderas Caribbean Seleccion Triple Aged is a Caribbean Rum, a blend from Barbados and Guyana assembled by the Spanish sherry house Williams & Humbert and bottled at 42%.
The rum goes through three ageing stages: first the rum matures separately in Barbados and Guyana, then the two rum types are blended and shipped to Jerez in Spain, where Williams & Humbert finishes the blend further in casks that previously held PX and Oloroso sherry from their own bodega. The Dos Maderas range is the house's take on how Caribbean rum can be enriched by the Spanish sherry tradition, and Seleccion Triple Aged is one of the range's most ambitious, darkest releases.
The result is almost tawny port-like in colour, with a rich, sherry-driven depth.
