    Bordeaux king Bernard Magrez owns more than 1000 hectares of vineyards. He possesses over 40 wine estates in various locations including Napa Valley, Chile, and Argentina, as well as Bordeaux and Provence in France. His heart, however, lies in France, where he owns, among many, the 100-point Château Pape Clement, a Grand Cru Classé in Pessac-Léognan Graves, which has been producing wine since 1252.
    Other notable properties include Château Fombrauge in St. Emilion, Château La Tour Carnet in Haut-Médoc, and Clos Haut-Peyraguey in Sauternes.
    In 1997, Bernard Magrez purchased Château Pérenne, and the renowned oenologist Michel Rolland was appointed to oversee the estate's vineyards and wine production. However, in 2016, he sold Château Pérenne to the billionaire Jack Ma, who owns Alibaba.
