The inaugural release from the Isle of Raasay distillery is a lightly peated whisky matured initially in first-fill Tennessee Whiskey casks and finished in first-fill Bordeaux red wine casks. The result is a dram with elegant peat smoke and balanced red fruit characters. Bottled at 52% and in a unique glass bottle which captures the island's geology. Lightly peated, smoky. Fruity, black cherries and brambles. Sweet spices, wine, black grapes, heather honey. Sweet Butterscotch, cereal, malted granary bread, hints of saltiness.
