Selección de Maestros has already gained international recognition as an absolute premium rum. The rum has been awarded gold at three of the world's most influential spirits competitions: The San Francisco World Spirits Award, The Beverage Testing Institute's International Review of Spirits and The International Wine and Spirit Competition. Like all Havana Club rum variants, the new Selección de Maestros is created by the Cuba renowned Maestros Roneros. It takes a minimum of 15 years of hard training to acquire the title, and today there are only six Maestros Roneros in the world - all, of course, residing at Cuba. To create Selección de maestros, Maestros Roneros select the finest aged rum that stands out with its unique qualities from the cellars of the Havana Club.
-This hand-picked rum is then aged in specially selected barrels, chosen by Maestros Roneros for the powerful aromatic potential of their wood, where the rum develops its character and intensity. At the end of this aging process, Maestros Roneros collectively selects the rum that will make up the final blend, which will be bottled directly from barrel. This unique finishing process, called "Cuban Barrel Proof", gives the rum its aromatic bouquet and unparalleled quality that is second to none. Color: Havana Club Selección de Maestros is characterized by a warm amber hue, with a deep red glow Scent:. The aroma has a light scent of roasted pecan nut, caramel and spices. This is followed by sweet tobacco and vanilla as a result of long barrel aging.
