The rum has been awarded gold at three of the world's most influential spirits competitions: The San Francisco World Spirits Award, The Beverage Testing Institute’s International Review of Spirits, and The International Wine and Spirit Competition. Like all Havana Club rum variants, the new Selección de Maestros is crafted by the esteemed Maestros Roneros in Cuba. It takes a minimum of 15 years of rigorous training to earn this title, and today there are only six Maestros Roneros in the world, all residing in Cuba.

To create "Selección de Maestros," the Maestros Roneros select the finest aged rum from Havana Club's cellars, which stands out for its exceptional qualities.
• This handpicked rum is then aged in specially chosen barrels, selected by the Maestros Roneros for their powerful aromatic potential, where the rum develops its character and intensity.
• At the end of this aging process, the Maestros Roneros collectively select the rum that will make up the final blend, which is then bottled directly from the barrel. This unique finishing process, called "Cuban Barrel Proof," gives the rum its aromatic bouquet and unparalleled quality.

Color: Havana Club Selección de Maestros is distinguished by a warm amber hue with a deep red glow.
Aroma: The aroma has a light scent of roasted pecan, caramel, and spices. This is followed by sweet tobacco and vanilla as a result of long aging in barrels.
Taste: Despite the high alcohol content, it is smooth and complex with a rich taste of cocoa, coffee, sweet tobacco, and dried prunes.
Finish: A pleasant finish of smoked oak and spice mixed with candied fruits gives the experience a remarkable balance.
