This exclusive Double Cask release has matured for two years in small Bulgarian oak casks before being transferred to 200-liter Bourbon casks, creating a perfect balance between smoky complexity and soft, sweet notes. Balkan Peat is the “big brother” to Thornæs 3rd Release, which won gold for Best Danish Small Batch Whisky at the World Whisky Awards 2025.

The whisky offers gentle peat smoke with floral and honeyed elements, where the smoldering smoke develops beautifully in the finish.
