Stauning Private Cask Wenqian Yun 2015/2018 is a Danish Peated Single Malt Whisky bottled at cask strength 60.4% from a single cask. Distilled at Stauning Whisky in 2015 and bottled in 2018 after three years. The malt is floor-malted and peated on site – craft from grain to bottle. This is a Private Cask: one cask, one bottling, no re-release.

Stauning's Private Cask programme started as a small experiment with a handful of casks for trusted partners. Today, enthusiasts from more than 20 countries have purchased casks at the distillery – but every result remains unique. The Wenqian Yun cask is its own whisky and resembles no other bottling from Stauning.

Tasting notes

Nose

Peat smoke and dark herbs. A hint of nuts and black pepper. Subtle but insistent.

Palate

Peat and spice with a sweet malt core. The 60.4% cask strength delivers real warmth and a long, smoky finish.

Finish

Moderately long with smoke, ash and a touch of dried fruit.
